IChangeMyCity on AWS

IChangeMyCity is a locational online social networking platform for civic action. The website or mobile app helps citizens post complaints on civic issues within their locality. It lets citizens find all the information about the area they live in, how the area ranks in quality-of-life, who their elected representatives are.

The app works along with various civic bodies in cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, Bhubneswar and collects details of complaints from the citizens. Citizens can also choose to upload pictures of the complaint they are posting about and these images are saved for the civic authorities to act on

AWS has made IChangeMyCity data available for free on S3 so that anyone can access this data to perform analysis. This data can be analyzed to understand the quality of life within various localities in the city, generate trends about the most common or frequent civic issues within locality and the time taken to resolve the same

Accessing IChangeMyCity on AWS

The data is organized in multiple files. Below are the details of various files and their relationships.

Citizens may also upload the images while raising the complaint. The images are in the “images” folder.
